Lowcountry Listening Lab is dedicated to providing comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to confirm or rule out the presence of an Auditory Processing Disorder (APD). We are the only practice in the state of South Carolina that specializes solely in diagnosing and treating this condition. Once an APD is diagnosed, Dr. Mary Anne Larkin provides the individual and family customized deficit-specific recommendations for accommodation and remediation. Research in neuroplasticity (the ability to change how the brain works) indicates that brain function can be improved by intensive stimulation. With appropriate therapy intervention, most individuals with APD can become more active listeners and be more confident and successful in listening and learning situations.
